Kaitlin and Jonathan were married on a beautiful summer day last year. I love what I do, but every now and then something happens when I truly realize, and remember, that what I do is important. This is a huge day for families, friends and of course the bride and groom. This wedding was one of those that reminded me of just that. In the middle of planning, Kaitlin’s family was struck with devastating news. Her father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Shock. The family was sent reeling, and all-things-wedding were put on hold. I was left to do what I do, take the stress away and make this day happen so the family could focus on the much bigger dealings at home. If you have ever doubted the power of prayer, community and perseverance–please take a look at this family. Not only did Kaitlin’s dad make it to her wedding (in a wheelchair, with the help of so many), he is in full-blown REMISSION and back at work, back to doing things with his family, back to ‘normal’. Praise God.
Months after her wedding, I received an email out of the blue from Kaitlin’s father:
Just wanted to say thank you for all you did for Kaitlin and Jonathan. Sorry for not reaching out sooner, but the summer and fall were not the best of times for me. I am back at work and doing well. I appreciate all your hard work for the wedding and everyone had a great time at the wedding and reception. All of the comments I heard were positive, which is a reflection of your attention to detail and process. Again, thanks for everything and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Speaks volume to his character (which was clearly shown at the reception–the amount of love this man received was overwhelming). Six months later, he took the time out of everything going on to email me. I was really touched. Congratulations Kaitlin+Jonathan–I wish you SO many blessings and happy memories for the future. I love you guys. xoxo
Thanks to these awesome people for helping make this day so great for this family:
