The Ritz-Carlton Urban Garden Wedding: Sarah + Jimmy

In August, Sarah+Jimmy wed. This was such a wonderful day and such a wonderful couple. I grew very close to these two and miss them dearly! Glitz and glam, blushes and silvers–it was a wedding dream! One of my favorite parts of their wedding was the song list that Split Second put together for them–lots and lots of hip hop and this girl was ALL about it. The party was on and we literally had to kick people out at the end of the night–they didn’t want to stop! Another favorite moment, Jimmy picking me up and throwing me in the air at the end of the night yelling “we love you!”–the feeling is very mutual ūüôā xo

Thank you SO much to¬†Charlotte Wedding Magazine¬†for asking me to plan+design their latest issue’s inspiration shoot-what an honor! At our first sit down meeting, the team told me they wanted gold with hints of emerald green. I found¬†THIS¬†paper at Paper Source and based the entire shoot off of it–I do that often, base an entire design off one piece of ‘something’ I find (paper, linens etc.). Above is the design board I created and worked from. Below is the spread! Thanks to the fabulous vendors that we collaborated with on this shoot! For more on this spread, go pick up your copy today :).

The Camp at Eseeola Lodge Wedding: Kristen + Tim

Oh Kristen+Tim. How I love this couple and loved being a part of this wedding. There aren’t enough words. Tim is just sweet as pie, and Kristen was a pleasure to work with. She has such amazing taste/style–what a dream. She put full faith in her vendors and really enjoyed the wedding planning process. What an honor and a privilege it was to be a part of something so special.

Can I give a HUGE shout out to this vendor team? I really try to tell my vendors how much I love and appreciate them–but this day takes the cake for 2013. We had the most beautiful week for a week-long install. Then…the morning of the wedding… torrential down pour. You guys, I’m talking WATERFALLS in to this tent. I showed up at 7:30am (soaked) amongst about 20 other (soaked vendors) who all looked at me and said “Katrina, what should we do?” Within 2 hours, there had to be 50 people in that tent (driving up from Charlotte for some of them! Thank you Party Reflections!!!!!) wet-vaccing, drying, sweeping, on their hands in knees, PRAYING, putting up temporary side walls/tarps…you name it. I was blown away. Everyone went above and beyond. Everyone. We pulled it off. No one had any clue that the morning of that wedding that the tent was COMPLETELY flooded. For that, I am forever grateful to these amazing people below.

Our Home

Last year, the CFO and I decided we felt defeated with trying to get our home together.¬†We didn’t have the time or the expertise to get it done. As with wedding planning, I think relying heavily on professionals is key. I don’t practice interior design for a living and it was time to find someone who does. I reached out to friends and Lindsey Regan Thorne put me in touch with one of her best friends, Sarah Catherine. I immediately reached out to SC as word-of-mouth trumps all advertising and marketing in my book. SC came over to my condo, we sat on my balcony and chatted. I knew immediately that I liked this woman’s taste and we definitely ‘clicked.’ So much so, that we are now very good friends (I even went to Cabo for her bachelorette party and got to help with HER wedding!). We also connected as female small business owners and love to bounce ideas off of each other. After the condo was finished, SC shot it for her portfolio so now we have pretty images of our first home together–I will always cherish these!

I can’t recommend Sarah Catherine enough. We are SO in love with our home, with her and we will most definitely be using her for years to come in our future homes.¬†Living in Uptown does not need to feel stark/industrial. We are so cozy here and will continue to love it for years to come.¬†She really reworked the entire condo from head to toe and we¬†could not be happier with it. SC–we love you! xoxo
