Engaged: Cassie + Matthew

Meet Cassie+Matthew. These two are getting married at The Mint Museum Uptown in late June and we couldn’t be more excited to help their yellow & gray wedding come+together. For now, enjoy a few engagement photos from Robert  Mariani Photography :).

Weekly Wrap Up: Internship Week 2

Last week, Katrina and I voyaged over to Duck, NC- a charming town in the Outer Banks. We met with all of the vendors for Melanie + Joe’s wedding to tie everything up for her wedding on June 9th! First we stopped by Sanctuary Vineyards to meet with the photographer, Brooke Mayo. She was so engaging with her bubbly personality and exciting ideas. I can’t wait to spend time with her the weekend of the wedding! We booked a room at The Sanderling Resort & Spa, the venue where the wedding is taking place. It was so nice; the wedding is going to be beautiful! Fingers crossed for good weather!! The next morning after a quick Starbucks run, we met with Marsha at Great Cakes to go over the cake details! Melanie chose for her cake to have two flavors- Key Lime Bliss and chocolate chip. Katrina and I were lucky enough to try the Great Cakes’ signature flavor, Key Lime Bliss. It is heavenly! Just the right amount of lime- not too tart! Lastly, we met with Wendy, the head of events at The Sanderling Resort & Spa, to figure out the finishing details. Wendy is great- so organized and has all of her ducks in a row. I enjoyed my quick trip to OBX with Katrina! It was lots of fun, and we had some great conversations during the 6 hour drive!

Back in Charlotte, we still had lots to do. With Katie + Chris’ wedding coming up so soon, Katrina and I got creative and are coming up with ways to use extra fabric. We finished up all of the table runners and I made some pillows! Thank god for internet and witch stitchery. I’m counting down the days until Katie and Melanie’s weddings! Soo excited!

One Year Anniversary Recap

The CFO and I celebrated our 1 year Anniversary on April 30th. Here’s a picture recap of that day and the week to follow. We started off the day with exchanging cards,  a little shopping at the outlet malls, Petal Boutique and getting pedicures :). Some cheap Chinese food for lunch made the afternoon perfection.

Then, we went to E2 for dinner so we could sit directly underneath the Mint Museum where we were married. Loved the symbolism there.
After dinner, it was time to try our cake topper that had been defrosting for two days. Amy from Wow Factor Cakes did not disappoint, it was almost as good as our wedding day!
Then came the sweetest surprise of all. The CFO said NO GIFTS for our anniversary since we were going to Anguilla and that would be our gift. So, against my will, I did not buy him anything but a card. Of course, he bought me something. Not just something, the most thoughtful something I could have never even imagined myself. The first anniversary gift should be ‘paper’, and he got in contact with Erica from The Summerhouse (who did all of my branding) to create a come+together book, letterpressed on EVERY page with my logo, logo pressed on the front and the most luxurious thick paper bound inside of the book–the same paper that our wedding invitations were printed on. No detail was left undone. It was the most thoughtful gift the CFO has given me to date. I love him.
Next up, we got on a plane to Anguilla!! We almost honeymooned here, but instead decided we’d come for our anniversary the following year.
Guess what I ate for lunch..EVERY day??

Prettiest spot in the world to do some vinyasa yoga, no doubt.
After yoga class!
My favorite day in Anguilla, we went to a TINY little sand bar called Sandy Island where there is one little restaurant and pure paradise galore.
There it is, a tiny piece of heaven.
Our personal plunge pool.
Very, very fortunate indeed.
The perfect dinner spot at The Viceroy.
Our last morning on our balcony.
I did a LOT of reading right here in this spot on the trip. Not a bad place to get through Hunger Games and Fifty Shades of Grey.
Love this guy. Right before we left for the boat to take us to the airport.
Flying home…what an anniversary to remember!

{Inspired} Outer Banks Fete

This week Intern Eden and I are heading over to the Outer Banks, NC for a few days to do final vendor meetings and a venue walk through for Melanie+Joe’s wedding in June!  Here is a sneak peek at the inspiration we’re using to design this gorgeous beach affair. Glitz and glam says it all–it will be stunning! Counting down the days until this one, it will be here soon! For the next few days, we get to be spoiled at The Sanderling, can’t wait!! 🙂

Weekly Wrap Up: Internship Week 1

Intern Eden here! As you can imagine, being a wedding planner you partake in lots of random errands and meetings. This week I got a taste of quite a few things that Katrina does! I started off my first day with 3 meetings; all very different. The first one was a meeting with her good friend and hair/makeup artist, Kymm with Who’s The Fairest and Christina with Jacuzzo Designs! It was a delicious breakfast accompanied by great conversation. Look forward to an awesome photo shoot later this summer! After our first meeting, Katrina and I headed over to the Mint Museum for a final meeting before Katie + Chris’ wedding. This meeting was one of the things I love most about planning events; seeing everything come together (pun intended)! Katie picked out the finishing touches, and her wedding will be before we know it! I can’t wait, it is going to be so beautiful. Last but not least on my first day we had a meeting over the phone with Melanie. Katrina and I are travelling to the Outer Banks on Monday to go see her venue! She is getting married at the Sanderling in Duck, N.C. in June.

The rest of our week consisted of various activities. We put a good amount of time into making table runners for Katie + Chris’ wedding this week. I never knew I could get so excited about a table runner looking nice! Not to mention, I am obsessed with the fabric. We ran a couple errands, including going to IKEA in search of picture frames. My first trip there ever… I will definitely be heading back to do some cheap college shopping. We also stopped by Polka Dot Bake Shop and met with Kelley, the head baker, to clear up some details about a cupcake display! If you’ve never been by Polka Dot, you are really missing out! It’s such a cute place not to mention the delicious desserts.

Behind all of this, Katrina was kept busy with 10 million other things. Good thing she can multi-task. Overall, this was a great first week with Katrina and I am so excited for what this summer has to come!
