Hi friends. I’m exhausted, are you? While I love the holiday season, nothing seems more tiring sometimes. Not only are we hosting 10 people for Christmas this year (our first time ever hosting Christmas, mind you), we also just moved in to our new condo yesterday (yayyyyyyy!), are busy busy busy with work and I’m trying trying trying to make this place look like Christmas before my family arrives in just a couple of days.

And yet, with all of the chaos, I am constantly reminded of how blessed and fortunate the CFO and I are. I am one lucky lady, while I worked all day, my awesome husband unpacked almost the ENTIRE condo (except for my clothing–which accounts for about half of the boxes), fetched and prepped all of my meals and took care of coordinating all of the deliveries, etc. It was almost like he was an event planner for the day :), a new career in his future? We already feel happy and at home here.  Every now and then, amidst the chaos, we keep stopping, look at each other, smile and feel humbled by our many blessings. Here are a couple of Christmas treats from our new home.
With family coming in just a couple of days, I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for the blog, so I leave you with what I am thankful for this holiday season and perhaps a New Years resolution. I hope you all have a very Happy Everything.
xoxo The Hutchins

Thankful for in 2011:
My husband, who pushes me to be better every day.
My family, who I love love love and who also love Hutch so much, which means the world to him and me.
My mom, my rock, my Marry Poppins, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and Martha Stewart rolled in to one. Life saver.
My new sister-in-law Ashley, for making my brother one happy man as his new wife.
My friends, who I know I neglect when I become too busy, and they always understand, forgive and stand by me no matter what. Grateful.
Our home, the little condo that could. Once we set our eyes on it, we knew it was the perfect home to start our life and we never gave up on her.
New friends in a new industry, to all of the amazing event vendors who have embraced, mentored and helped me. Forever indebted.
Our jobs, with so many struggling, we know we’re lucky to have what we have (and try to remind ourselves on tough days).

New Year’s 2012 Resolution:
Hit the gym! Ohhh this is on here every year, and every year I fail. I couldn’t even work out for my own wedding. But, this year will be different–right……
Watch less trashy TV
Try to be more of a minimalist
Take more personal pictures
Try to find more time to relax and just be
Volunteer at Levine Children’s Hospital
Volunteer for Mitey Riders with Erica Anne
Grow my business in a positive, productive and healthy way

We’ll see how many of these I can knock out. What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Any I should add? I’ll try to blog between now and 2012, but if I don’t… kiss kiss when the clock strikes 12!

Charlotte City Club Wedding: Raegan + Ian

Raegan+Ian were married in late October at the Charlotte City Club in Uptown, Charlotte. It was a beautiful Jewish ceremony and the chuppa was just over the top gorgeous! Raegan was all about the details for their wedding, even taking dance lessons with Ian to have the most amazing first dance I’ve ever seen–the crowd was in shock and awe. Thanks to the vendors who made it a successful event! Congrats Raegan+Ian!

Lace was a common theme throughout the wedding on the invitations, programs, menus and wrapped on the bouquets. Simple and elegant.
The chuppah was absolutely stunning, my favorite decor item with out a doubt–just dripping with flowers and curly vines.
I love this shot. The Schultzes always know how to keep their work fresh and new.
During cocktail hour, the couple displayed 8 ‘fun facts’ about themselves on cocktail napkins. It was a great way to personalize the event.
I love this shot of Ian’s mom in the middle of the crowd dancing. She is just the sweetest woman.
My personal, favorite part of a Jewish wedding. No question.
Congrats Raegan+Ian! Do keep in touch 🙂

Christina + Matt's Palmer Building Wedding

Christina+Matt were married in early November at the Palmer Building in Charlotte, NC. Christina took on so many DIY projects for her wedding that she’s probably still finding burlap and yarn strewn about her house. It was all so worth it though, as this wedding turned out super charming and so them. I had so much fun working with Christina, who came to me mid-wedding planning in a deep panic because she had 1,000,000 great ideas and no clue how to make them all work together to create a cohesive, stylized event. After a few weeks of narrowing down ideas, we came up with the perfect vision for this couple (HERE), and it turned out beautifully. Thanks so much to the great vendors who made it all come+together!

My jaw literally dropped when I saw Christina’s bouquet. Lynette from the Bloom Room blew us all away.

Happy Everything. Love, The Hutchins

It’s Christmas card season! I love finding little treasures in the mail every day from friends, family, coworkers etc. Holiday cards are a great way to see a person’s creative side come out, even if it’s only one time per year. I get really excited when I open the mailbox to find a new card waiting for me to unwrap. This year is the first year that we will be sending out our Christmas cards. I custom-designed ours from Minted. Minted is great because they allow you to change many of the features on a stock card. For example, I changed the font of our names on the front of our card. I also purchased the envelope wrap, which has our NEW address on it (great way to tell everyone of the new address too, bonus points for perfect timing of the big move).
On the back of the card, I chose to do a red/white stripe. Simple, festive…I love it. The back of the envelope wrap originally read ‘happy holidays,’ but I changed it to ‘happy everything,’ because ya’ll know I always like to be a little bit different :). I also changed from white envelopes to kraft paper envelopes. Another little touch of uniqueness. I addressed all 130 envelopes yesterday in one sitting (never again), and I’m so excited to send them out! Merry Christmas, I hope to get yours in the mail soon!

Happy Wedding Weekend Melissa+Jarian

This weekend is Melissa+Jarian’s Mint Museum wedding in Uptown, Charlotte. This is so bittersweet for me for a few reasons. 1. I’m going to miss my emails, calls, meetings, wine dates with these two to plan their special day. 2. It’s my last wedding of the year and I can’t believe how quickly time has flown. 3. I have to shamefully admit, it’s probably going to make me miss our wedding a lot since it’s in the same venue! I have no doubt, however, that I will be seeing much more of these two in the future. Can’t wait for Saturday, congrats Melissa+Jarian!
